Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was birthed in Los Angeles, California on November 18, 1985. She was the daughter of Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley and the mother of her child Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix was a natural athlete and found her passion of sprinting while at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within 10 weeks of her initial tryout, she placed 2nd in the 200 meters at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix agreed to sign a contract with Adidas for a professional career with Adidas in 2003. She after that she enrolled at University of Southern California to learn about elementary education. A year later Felix was awarded her first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece breaking a junior world record by running 200 meters at 22.18 seconds. The 2005 Helsinki World Championships saw her become the shortest woman ever to win the 200 meter race. In 2007, she won that title, beating her Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix had a steady performance in London, Beijing Rio de Janeiro, as well as Tokyo. She consistently placed in the top three of the events.
